About
I am a licensed teacher with over 20 years of experience. I have taught and tutored students from kindergarten through high school. I am also a children's book writer. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and two Master's Degrees, one for education and one for writing.
I really like to figure out how to get learning to work for students, wherever they are beginning. The creativity I can bring to the work is so much fun. Also, I enjoy working with young people a whole lot.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use an interest inventory to find out what students enjoy. Then I do a pretest in the area we are working on to determine the students' level in that area.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an elementary teacher for more than 20 years. My undergraduate education is in elementary education with Master's degrees in bilingual education and writing.

I charge $30 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I wanted to teach since I was a little girl. My stepmother was a kindergarten teacher, and she was my inspiration for that goal, along with my little brother who I tutored when he struggled in school. I enjoy teaching so much!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from kindergarten through grade 12. Many of my students have been English learners.
