With our affordable tuition cost, we teach ages 12 months up to retired adults.
We are PASSIONate about teaching this beautiful French language, with our customize diverse, rigorous lesson plans and French curriculum. With PATIENCE, we ensure that each student understands the lesson and we encourage day to day PRACTICE outside of Mes Amis by providing tools . We see PROGRESS through our Content-Based Instruction method. It's not learning vocabulary but actually speak. We empowered our students to stay consistent in speaking to the best of their abilities.
Mes Amis has been founded by a native French speaker since 2005. Our teachers are experienced and trained through Parent Aware. Member of the American Association of Teachers of French & Minnesota Advocate for Immersion Network, certified in Early childhood, degree in French studies. Experience working in Montessori Schools, public schools in the Metro Area as well as Normandale Community College. Our middle school and high school students have participated at A Vous La Parole, a French oral contest at the French Department at the University of Minnesota and received blue medals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet with the student first to see if it is a good fit. We make sure the student is placed at the right level. For experienced students we do a placement test.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attended Metro StateUniversity and Miami Dade Community College Education. Training through C.A.R.L.A. University of Minnesota, Think Small Parent Aware. 10 years of teaching experience working through Metro area public schools from Eden Prairie Schools to Bloomington Public Schools and Normandale Community College.

How did you get started teaching?
I have been passionate about tutoring since the age of 5. I would gather my dolls and stuffed animals and teach English. I would help my fellow classmates in highschool with their French. And teach the ABC'S to the poor who couldn't afford a private tutor. I always carried with me a chalk and an 'ardoise ' a small black board.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with a diverse group from visual, audio, special needs, reluctant , fast pace, slow pace learners. We believe ALL can learn as long as you are PASSIONate. We will give students key concept to help stay consistent. That is why we make learning en français fun!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Twice a year students put a 'spectacle' a performance for friends and families. It's 'fantastique' to see on stage what they created in this beautiful French language.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet your teacher, make sure you feel the connection and there's a level of understanding. The teacher understands You about learning French or discovering French. Explore a summer camp either at Mes Amis , Alliance Française, or Concordia Language camps to see if French is a good fit. Investing the time and money should be worth it not a waste.
