Harris Science Tutoring
About
I decided to become a teacher because of the joy that I found working with individual students as a tutor. I can tailor instruction to fit your needs and my goal is for you to understand the content rather than to just find the correct answer.
I enjoy working with students because they have the greatest questions and it is fun to watch someone experience the magic of chemistry for the first time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to know about your background in school and what your strengths are so that I can shape my lessons around them. Also, I want to know a little bit about your interests so I can keep an eye open for any content that may interest you about the subject.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's of science degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and I have my teaching license in chemistry and physics. I also have my master's degree in education.
How did you get started teaching?
I actually started tutoring students through the library system and through some volunteer opportunities. It was stressful going through college, but my wife noticed that I seemed to be less affected by that on days when I worked with kids.
