About
I enjoy using math in my life and work. Still, I often struggled during math class because I didn't understand why concepts mattered or how they fit together. Once I made those connections, math started to click.
The experience has given me a passion for helping others make sense of abstract concepts. It has also made me an effective tutor, finding new ways to explain and connect information to help students.
Everyone can benefit from this approach, but it can be especially helpful for neurodivergent kids who struggle with the "why" of different topics or homework assignments.
I might not know all my times tables by heart, but I have succeeded in math, science, and engineering.
I enjoy watching my students make connections. So often, we understand more about a topic than we think we do. Repeatedly struggling can be discouraging, and I provide a supportive environment for students to make the needed connections to grasp and understand new concepts.
