I have experience in speech and debate, as well as taking high level english courses. I love helping other learn. I have effective communication skills. I have a love of english, classics and philosophy. I will help your student learn through evidence based learning skills, that have not only been proven, but have helped me personally. If you have a student with ADHD or another learning disability, I will be happy to work with you on how they learn best. I am a new tutor, but have the knowledge and skills to be able to adapt to what you and your student's needs are.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will talk to the parent or guardian about their concerns. I will then get to know the student, and what they believe their needs are. I will discuss with the student what type of learning they would like to do (hands on, lecturing, going back and forth with questions and answers), and how they feel I can best support them. I will then observe carefully how the student best learns and tailor my teaching to their needs/wants.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Most definitely pick someone who you like. If you don't connect with someone, don't work with them.
