Thomas Schraufnagel

I am a retired teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in language arts and social

sciences. I taught middle school students and high school students. I love the subjects I taught and looked forward to teaching every day. I connected with my students by learning about their interests and learning styles. I used that information to tailor my lessons to those interests and learning styles.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is to experience the moment when a lightbulb goes off in the student’s head and what was not understood or confusing becomes clear. I really work hard to get students to experience those moments in my teaching. I have developed many ways to gauge progress of students and to attain the learning goals of my students.

There are many more things I could share,

but I will mention only two more. I love teaching writing to students and have been very successful improving the writing skills of all my students. Finally, I love to read and have developed many ways to improve the reading skills and comprehension of my students. I am an enthusiastic goal- oriented teacher who strives to help students in the areas they desire.
