Elementary School-Aged Tutoring

Currently a Reading Specialist in the Centennial School district.

I hold a masters teaching degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I also obtained a K-12 Reading Teaching license from St. Cloud State.

I have experience as a classroom teacher in both 3rd and 5th grade. During my years of teaching full time, I have also conducted small group reading tutoring sessions for students in grades 2-3. These small group tutoring sessions have taken place at local elementary schools. I have also taught after-school targeted services classes in both 4th grade reading and 1st grade math. I have taught two summers of Summer School supporting students entering both 3rd and 4th grade.

I have 8 years of one-on-one student tutoring as well. Here is a brief view of who I've serviced:

- 5th grader in reading and writing-summer only

- 2nd grader for 6 months in reading, spelling, writing, and math, 1X after school at their school

- 5th grader in math for 3 years, until they entered 8th grade, 1X weekly at a local library.

-5th grader in math for 6 months, 1X weekly at local library

-5th grader in math, reading, and writing at their home, 2X weekly

-6th grader in math in their home, 2X weekly

I enjoy being able to help students reach their greatest potenial and see them make connections to their learning.
