Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I ask what brought them to me. What are they seeking? I l listen to them and ask what they hope to achieve with my services. I gather as much information about their experiences with the particular subject. I ask them what subjects are their favorites and why. I will then use a diagnostic tool to formally assess their skills, strengths and weaknesses.

I am a certified school teacher for grades K-8 grade. I have been a classroom teacher for over 15 years. I have had daycare and tutoring service.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge anywhere between $25-$65 hour. I tutor all subjects including writing, reading, math, science, social studies, ESOL, to grades K through 12th grade.
How did you get started teaching?
I always loved children. I started teaching when my first child was about 3 years old. I wanted to have a work schedule that would allow me to be with her. I started teaching at the private school I put her in. I enjoyed teaching so much that I began homeschooling my own child and a few others. Soon I got certified and started teaching in local school district.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of students. I've worked with ESOL students, Arabic speaking, students with emotional and behavior disorders, ADHD, slow learners, and other learning disabilities.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
