I am an enthusiastic individual who has spent the last three years teaching middle school language arts and history. Before that, as a education student, I was trained as a ReadingCorps tutor and provided one-on-one intervention to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. I recently left the teaching profession to pursue a career in finance, but still have a passion for helping students learn and grow!

Teaching language skills including spoken English for ESL students, written English for academic essays and topics related to English literature (poetry and fiction), personal statements for college applications, IELTS Speaking Module, and more. For the past 30+ years I have been working as a teacher/tutor in various settings, including 1-to-1 and in small groups, classrooms, and corporate training sessions, both in person and online. Extensive experience overseas as an ESL instructor and college prep advisor.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Secondary Education: English at Rochester College. I do have experience with mentoring people in Test Prep (SAT/ACT: Reading and Writing), understanding types of literature (Poetry, xlassic vs. modern), and basic computer skills (writing or creating projects using Microsoft Office). I love reading, understanding, and writing about literature. I also enjoy learning about the history and culture behind various literary genre: Modern, African American, Latino, 18th Century British, Native American literature. I hold a bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master’s in Supply Chain Management. I am passionate about creating time to teach those in k-12 and college courses and help them understand material on a deeper level.
