What is your typical process for working with a new student?
An Education Philosophy
Students should graduate with skills to be life-long learners. The curriculum should be student-centered so that in this atmosphere each one can discover and develop his or her talents in academics and activities that demand both excellence and building of a morally strong character. Students should be challenged and prepared to face with confidence the world around them.
Discipline and high expectations for students on every academic level should be tailored to their needs. Special acknowledgment should be provided for high achievement and special care should be given to those who struggle.
Much can also be learned by the hidden curriculum which speaks more strongly than any in-class experience. It is the example of faculty and staff, in how they relate to others, that can teach more than can be learned in any academic subject.
Cooperation with parents in this complex process is fundamental for support of, communication about, and participation in their child’s education. In addition, support from the outside community should likewise be sought and fostered to help the school with needed resources, financial and otherwise, to help it fulfill its mission.
