Spanish Tutor
About
I am a student at Central Michigan University and I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the second grade. I have been a voluntary tutor for a variety of ages, but my passion is to teach high school level students. As a current college student, I am closer to a high school student's age than many of the other adult tutors on this website, therefore I can probably relate better to the student than most.
I enjoy when a student finally understands something that they had been struggling with because they are always so happy. I also enjoy seeing their surprised reaction when I think of fun and silly ways for them to memorize things such as vocabulary words. I want to be a teacher because when I was younger, I always looked up to my teachers and admired them for their work. Tutoring provides me with the opportunity to teach student one on one rather than teaching large classes.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been taking Spanish for about nine years and I recieved bilingual certification. I have tutored a variety of ages from elementary to high school. I was a teacher's assistant in both a 5th grade classroom and a high school level classrom. Also, I occasionally volunteered to teach Sunday School at my church.
How did you get started teaching?
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the second grade, so I have taken on jobs and volunteered at different places to get experience.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from pre-k to 12th grade.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't sweat the small stuff. That's what my teacher told me in 6th grade. Based on my experience, learning takes time and it can be scary, but don't be afraid to try. You won't understand everything right away and that's okay. Just breathe and try again.
