About
We offer ongoing one-on-one reading, writing, spelling or math intervention. Although we do offer sessions 2 times per week, the research is indicating that 1 session per week with an additional 15 minutes of daily practice at home is more effective.
Your session cost includes the time within the session, the practice platform subscription and the printables that we create specifically for your child for extra practice.
We use a multi-sensory structured approach that is research-based, otherwise known as Orton-Gillingham. This approach is essential for students with a learning disability, but ALL students benefit from this instruction. Each session is individualized and constructed around your child's unique needs!
We offer intervention, rather that tutoring. Tutoring is more of a band-aid approach, whereas intervention addresses missing foundational skills for life long success.

Currently, we are accepting students virtually via Zoom. Rest assured, virtual sessions are one-on-one, engaging and families love the flexibility of not needing to leave their homes! Intake assessments are available either via Zoom or in person at our Saint Clair Shores office.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, we will first complete an intake assessment in the subject area we are wanting to work on. From there, I will analyze the results and write a program to be followed for the duration of tutoring. The program details the students' strengths and weaknesses. I also make sure to take the time to get to know and connect with the student, relationships are so important!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher in the state of Michigan. I have taught Kindergarten, 3-5 ungraded primary, have been a classroom aide and I have done intervention. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham Multi-Sensory Methodology through IMSE and I am continously learning more.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Please keep in mind that I am spending apx. 1 hour in addition to your child's session lesson planning with their specific needs in mind. This lesson plan cannot be used for any other child. All materials are included in the cost of the session price.

Look for a teacher who is trained well, is compassionate and understanding and is committed to life-long learning.
