Hello,

My name is Joseph. I have three years of teaching experience at the university level and over ten years of combined teaching and tutoring experience. I have a Bachelors in English and a Masters in Communications Science. Tutoring is my passion and for me tutoring is not just a job, but a relationship that I build with the student. By getting to know the student and their particular learning style, I’m able customize my tutoring plan to the unique needs and goals of the student.

My tutoring style is very interactive, employing different methodologies as needed, to include the student’s participation and not just simply demonstrate the material. To help show tangible benchmarks in student progress I offer diagnostic assessments to gauge the grade level of the student in math and reading and free progress reports every 45 sessions to show how the test metrics are moving forward.

My background and training as an educator is in:

*Development of Active and Reflective Listening Skills critical to learning and increased self-reliance of the student

I enjoy working with students from a variety of ages and academic backgrounds. It brings me a lot of joy to help a student move past their current struggles and succeed and develop the confidence of reaching their own maximum potential.
