Pamella's Tutoring

I will contact the student's family to set up a phone call to discuss goals, expectations, and the student's needs.  I will create an engaging first lesson that hones in on building a strong relationship with the student and establishing a safe, welcoming environment with them.  We will address the student's needs and goals throughout creative activities in our sessions.

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Language Arts endorsement.  I have been a private flute teacher and tutor for various academic and music subjects.

Per hour, I charge $45.  Per half hour, I charge $30.

I have always had a love for working with children and  am dedicated to helping others' in their educational journey as I prepare to receive my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Language Arts Endorsement. I absolutely love working with students and investing my time and energy into helping them learn and grow as they develop into independent individuals. have three certifications from Harvard University and one from MIT, and am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow in new knowledge I can pass on to my students. I am qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects, including various content areas in Elementary Education, Middle School, High School, and college, as well as AP test pep, SAT and ACT Prep, French, flute, piccolo, and Study and Organizational Skills. I believe that all students should be valued and respected as they pursue academic excellence in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment through which the teacher sparks students' interests and shares her passions with young minds. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with students as they pursue their personal and educational goals and ambitions. I am devoted to and passionate about the pursuit of intellectual knowledge and enriching personal growth that allows the individual to achieve their ambitions and goals and reach their maximum potential in their educational journey. I love engaging students in fun and creative modes of learning that cultivate personal and academic growth as they gain skills they will take with them throughout their lives. Through all course materials and curriculum, I will teach for understanding so that students may genuinely comprehend concepts and acquire the skills to be able to utilize them in real-world applications. I believe that "teaching with understanding" is a powerful mindset that empowers tutors to purposefully communicate to students the importance and meaning of concepts that have a real impact in today's world. I am committed to engaging all students in equal learning that benefits each individual as they embark on their educational journey. I will do so by establishing mutual respect between student and tutor to create an open, encouraging, and safe culture in my tutoring sessions. I will encourage students to share their opinions, perspectives, and inquiries in an environment in which they know they will be respected and valued. I am also invested in centering my tutoring session on the student needs and interests. As a future educator and dedicated tutor, I believe that my job is never truly finished at the end of the day. I am dedicated to exploring new ideas, improving upon old ones, and pursuing excellence for my students. Overall, I strive to teach with a specific goal in mind: that my students may truly, genuinely understand the concepts through use of purposeful teaching and mindful engagement with students of all backgrounds. In doing this, I will ensure I value their observations and wonderings with respect and encourage their exploration of new curiosities of themselves and the world around them.

I have worked with students ages first grade through college graduates.  I have also worked with students with learning needs such as ADHD and dislexia. 

I recently had a student tell me that they felt safe in our tutoring sessions and loved our sessions! She also asked when we were going to do an activity again!

I would advise the student to look not only for qualifications and credentials, but also for a dedicated passion for teaching.  I would encourage students to also look for someone outgoing, creative, and optimistic! 

I think that students should consider their goals and expecations for the sessions in addition to their interests and passions! All of this information helps the teacher better design lessons that suit the student's needs.
