Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I look at what is the status of the student work or/and grades and where they want to be by the end of the period, he hired me for, and I try to assess what kind of help they need. If I believe I can help them overcoming their difficulties and reaching their goal I then start a plan for the lessons focusing on the most critical points and what assistance is needed.
What types of students have you worked with?
I started tutoring back in college as a volunteer for children in less privileged communities and I have since then worked with kids from every background.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you find someone who you can be open about your weakness and goals without feeling judged or pressured by this person.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much time are you wiling to spend in this activity? What is your goal?
