My name is Lin，I am a middle school teacher from China who came to Michigan six years ago. I hold a Level 1 First-Class certificate in Mandarin and have a teaching qualification. I teach Chinese at the Michigan New Century Chinese School and also at language institutions to children. I am skilled in communicating with children of different ages and can also teach adults Chinese. I have experience with almost all types of Chinese learning materials, such as HSK and YCT, and have helped some children pass HSK exams, among others. My interests are wide-ranging, so I can converse with you in Chinese on any topic you're interested in. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach Chinese according to the students' situation. Children will generally use YCT materials suitable for children, while adults will generally use HSK materials for teaching

I have been a teacher in China for 10 years and a middle school teacher has been teaching Chinese to children and adults since coming to the United States for 5 years

How did you get started teaching?
Generally speaking, I will start to understand students' Chinese learning status in the first class, and then formulate the corresponding learning methods and textbooks. There are many textbooks, including Chinese as a foreign language, YCT, HSK and textbooks used by Chinese schools
What types of students have you worked with?
In my teaching career of more than 10 years, I have seen a lot of students, and I can formulate specific teaching methods according to the characteristics of each student. Therefore, it is very valuable for children, including adults, to learn Chinese, and I will try my best to help them
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I couldn't travel because of the pandemic, but I really enjoyed the weekly teaching experience with children and adults teaching
