Composition Craft

Composition Craft aims to develop students' reading level and critical thinking skills by having them dig deep into literature and training them to write about it through journaling, essay writing, etc. The age range I work best with is middle to high school students. Starting in 2015, I tutored high school and middle school students in Grand Rapids, MI in everything from how to write essays on Shakespeare’s plays to constructing lessons on To Kill A Mockingbird.

I meet the student at their academic level and area of need regarding writing and literature yet challenge them to develop their skill into excellence by having them read and write at their highest capability. I listen and relate to students, yet have high expectations, as both reading critically and writing artfully are particularly important abilities to hone.
