About
I am a certified teacher and am currently working as an math and reading interventionist for Kindergarten through 4th graders. I have over ten years of teaching experiences, ranging from preschool to 4th grade. I have completed 30 hours of Orton Gillingham reading instruction training. This is a research based approach to reading that has been proven to work with students with dyslexia. I also have experience working with EnVision math, which helps to identify students' areas of struggle and targets those specificially. I will use my knowledge and resources to determine the areas of need for each student (math or reading) and target those specific concepts.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet a new student I will get to know them by introducing myself and letting them tell me a little about themself. I will then work with the student to complete a grade and subject area specific assessment. This will help me determine which concepts the student understands and which concepts we need to work on. After completing the assessment I will compile the approriate material and get to work:).

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One recent event that I really enjoyed was our school's March is Reading month reading assembly. The students work all of March to read and log minutes to reach a certain goal. During this assembly the students total minutes is announced, prizes are given for the students with the most minutes read, and students were allowed to throw pies in the teachers faces when their goals were met. It was a super fun experience and a great way to get the students motivated to read.
