Hey! I am a college student at Calvin University in Michigan. I am studying math education and hope to be a math teacher one day! Students who struggle with math struggle for the same reason as any skill, they don't practice, and unfortunately in schools, the teachers don't know how to have students practice. I can provide one on one math tutoring that will help improve students math confidence and math abilities!
This platform is great for me to practice teaching and help students grow! It makes me sad to hear students don't like math. I believe everyone can enjoy or at least appreciate math when applying it strategically. I enjoy being able to show students the beauty of math and hopefully give them a "6th sense"... a number sense!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students who struggle with math tend to struggle because they do not feel that they can relate to the content. I start by identifying what the student enjoys and is already invested in and form the math content to that particular field. Say for example a student enjoys basketball, I might discuss percentages in terms of a player's shot ratio.
