Lauren Teaches History And Psychology
About
Hello new students! I love history and I love teaching history as well. I think that it is so fascinating. I know that what school teaches us, isn't even half of the information, but I can tell you that I will make learning this far more fascinating and interesting than your teachers will. I also have a history podcast called Not Your History Class, that is not currently available to the public, but I have uploaded six episodes of on my portfolio: https://laurendegalanportfolio.weebly.com/audio.html
I also have a great deal of interest in psychology and behavioral sciences. I am currently working through my Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science. I think the human mind is an amazing tool and should be constantly researched, the learning on what the human brain can do is never-ending, but always incredible and fascinating.
I personally love learning new things and I like working with people. I consider myself to be outgoing and charming, and I have an easy time building interpersonal relationships with my students. I think that one of the biggest aspects that I love about the work I do, is that I am able to learn more than I ever could at a cursory glance. Not only do I get to teach myself more, but I get to teach someone else as well. That was the main goal of my history podcast is to shake up what people learned in school and put history in a brand new light. There is so much to learn about our world and I can't wait to share it with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process would be to initally find out what the student knows, and what they are struggling with. I think that the most important thing for a student is to have good communication with their tutor, so that we are both on the same page. I also think that being able to hone in on the part that they are struggling with and finding different ways to help them study and learn, is also very vital. I would want to be able to set up a time with them, so that they can study on a regular basis and when we meet again, we can see how much the student has learned and what else they are needing guidance with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my associates in general studies and I am currently partially through my Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system but I would say that I would not go lower than $25 for an hour session. I would prefer about $40 per hour session.
