Grace Bolt Tutoring
About
I have experience working with kids of all ages and in many capacities, from tutoring to babysitting, to coaching, to youth ministry. I have a passion for learning, and nothing makes me happier than when a student makes a breakthrough. I have flexible after school hours, and can meet whenever and wherever you feel comfortable!
I love helping students understand difficult concepts and see things in a different light. My goal is always to have your student own their learning, and find passion for what they are studying. My favorite things to study are history, geography, and the English language, so I love helping students see the bigger picture and giving them the tools to articulate their thoughts in the most accurate, concise, and interesting way. I even love reading and editing student papers!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I assess the student's needs and challenges, and set goals for our time together. It is important to establish long-term goals, such as raising a grade in a class, and daily goals, such as finishing a homework assignment. Then, depending on the needs of the student, I find the best method for reaching those goals. Then, we get going! It's important to establish a student/tutor bond, as well, so I always try to find common ground.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Honors BA in Geography and a BA in History, and I made excellent grades in both high school and college (3.9 and 3.8 GPA respectively). Before, during and after my own school years, I have had experience coaching students, working with kids in a youth ministy setting, and nannying (with tutoring involved).
