About
When I was in middle school I needed math help and went to a tutoring place, and once I got in high school I helped tutor the younger kids. I've had three years of experience helping people out with Math and I'm in college studying Physics. I've always had a love for the subject and I can help you find it too.
Almost every time I teach a new person Math I learn something new myself. If they don't understand the way I do I have to discover a completely different method of understanding to help them. Through this, I've continually found deeper connections with the student and the subject to reinforce both of our work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always try to start from the beginning, have the student explain to me exactly how much they understand so far. This way I can better understand how they think before getting to the root problem and explaining it in a way that appeals to them specifically.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've tutored Math for 3 years, I got a 35 on my ACT, and I attend an Ivy League institution for Physics.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Given that I'm from Detroit and I come from a low-income environment I try to be somewhat need-based. The pricing system is flexible.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from all over Detroit in middle school and high school.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for somebody that not only has the expertise but the patience to learn with you and make sure you aren't lost.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what part of each problem you have trouble with. Not just the problem as a whole, but try out pieces of it. What do you understand? Sometimes the issue is as simple as meaning, arithmetic is secondary to root understanding.
