About

I am a Spanish native speaker and I have 5 years of experience teaching to kids and adults. I have thought kids around the world. I lived in China for a year and thought Spanish and English to kids.

I also enjoy teaching adults both languages; It is great to share my knowledge with them and also feel the connection between cultures.

I studied International Business and I speak three languages Spanish, English and Chinese. I have a First Certificate in English (FCE) which is a certificate valid from Cambridge University for the knowledge of English language. I also studied Mandarin in China for a year.

If you would like to know more about me please feel free to look at my LinkedIn account: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paola-flores-bak

I love to see my students learning and focusing on getting in contact with the language they are studying. I encourage them to read any popular story or book that they might feel connected with in the language I am teaching them.

It makes me feel happy when my students come back to me and tell me how good they feel using the new language skills that I thought them.

Paola has a very warm and welcoming spirit. She is also very patient. As a native, she helps you avoid those awkward misinterpretations caused by learning through Google Translate lol. She also is very encouraging. She has motivated me not to just study Spanish but to get over my fears to use what I learned and to start speaking Spanish. Because she is native she will also have you sounding like a natural and she will also teach you slang. So youll fit right in with other native speakers. :) Shes the best!

    Frequently asked questions

I usually like to have an introductory talk where they can share their goals on learning and where we can talk about what they know and set reachable goals where they want to go. Once we have that first meeting, we can work together towards achievieng those goals and building a schedule.
I am Spanish native speaker, and I took all my studies in Spanish. I graduated from Collegue in Mexico as International Business Proffesional. I have studied English as a second language for more than 15+ years and I also obtained the TOEFL and Cambrige English Certificate FCE.
Yes, I charge hourly. What I do with my students is to set up a schedule together, where extablish the time of learning, and we set up a timeline to work towards the goals they want to reach. From there, we start working towards achieving the goals were established at the begining. Meanwhile, we reach key milestones in their learning experience and we continue to work together towards their main goal.
I started teaching because it is very rewaring to see the students happiness when they have reached a milestone in their language goals. I love to help others to develop their personal and proffesional goals in learning a new language
I have worked with kids from 6 to 10 years old, teenagers from 15 to 18 years old, young adults from 20 to 39 years old, and some adults on their 50's
One of my students was working towards losing the stress to start a conversation in the language she was learning. After a couple leassons together, she begined to feel more confident with the language and finally started adventuring into more conversations with native speakers. I am very proud of her that now she is more conffident on herself and has find a way to manage that stress and anciety of speaking.
First don't be afaid to ask questions and tell your teacher your areas of interest. Everyone knows that learning a new language can be challenging, so connecting it with some hobbies or passtines will help to make it easier and enjoyable.
    • Start by making a self-evaluation of what you already know about the language (only if you have studied it before). • If you have studied the language previously, try making a list of what basics you know and work with your teacher to set-up reachable goals for your learning process. • Think and write down what motivates you to keep learning and use that main idea for your future learning goals. • Stablish which of the three skills of a language speaking, writing, and readding are more important for you to learn first, or if each one holds the same weight. • Prepare yourself to compromise on a schedule and study time by your own.
