Opportunities For Children
About
The most satisfying aspect of tutoring, is when they finally get it! It's a feeling of accomplishment for them. Every child learns differently and it's great feeling once I am able to find that route! I began working in my local school district and then with Family & Childrens Services. I am familiar with IEPs and can carry out any action plans the child has in place.
I normally focus on K-5. The first few years of school are critical for forming a solid foundation for the child. I enjoy being able to see the growth!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Working with a new student is a great opportunity! I normally start with a brief getting to know them activity and then assess what levels they are at or what needs they have. Finally I formulate some goals and objectives for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree from Eastern Kentucky University. I worked at my local school district as a teachers aide and behavior intervention. After that, I worked for Family & Children Services following individualized action plans for academics and behavior with children with special needs.
