I have personally tutored hundreds of students in my time as a tutor. Over the past six years I have spent time honing my craft and making sure that this was what my students wanted to see in our sessions. I started tutoring upon the request of a math professor that wanted to start a conversational math class. Physics can be for everyone as long as teachers take the time to figure out how best to commuicate concepts to each specific student. The most fun part of teaching physics is coming up with as many different angles as possible with which to approach an idea! One of the best things about physics is that it's so much more about how you think than what you know, which allows for actual collaboration between teachers and students. I love when a student starts to gain enough confidence in their own logic to figure out that the problem is posed poorly or to question my explanation of something. Hi I am Sophia, and my biggest passion is learning! I would love to share that with you. I believe that everyone learns differently and that it is the teachers job to accommodate that. Even if it takes a little extra creativity and time. I am currently enrolled at Washtenaw Community College (WCC) and am working towards my associates degree in natural sciences (physics). I've been tutoring for the past two years. I've noticed, that often teachers put up formulas without explaining where they came from, and how to apply them to real-world problems. When I tutor, I place an emphasis on having a deep understanding on concepts we're covering them so they have mastery over the skills they once struggled with. Covering contextual applications and derivations of formulas also make it easier for students to use and apply the knowledge they learned in the classroom to out of class room problems....

I've always loved helping people learn and grow. I've been babysitting for about eight years now and have been tutoring at my old high school for three. I've helped kids aged kindergarten through twelfth grade with school work over the past few years. I graduated as one of the top in my class and am currently a rising junior at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I love working with kids and helping people out. The ability to just hopefully improve someone's academic experience just a bit is extremely appealing to me....
