What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discuss students goals.
Back and forth conversation. Some topics chosen by student, some by teacher.
Discuss corrections and compliment strengths.
Final project will be a 4 minute speech of students choice that we work on together.
Meet 1-3 times per week.
Homework can be given if desired.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had 36 years of helping internationals learn conversational English and American culture. I have a Masters degree from an American university.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$15/hour for one student.
Reduced to $10/hour if a student finds another student for me. When one pays $14 the other pays $10 for the session that week. If 2 friends meet together, I charge $20/hour to tutor 2 together.
How did you get started teaching?
I took some education classes as an undergrad. Shortly after college, I started to work with a company that helped international students. After getting a masters degree, I worked full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
17-40 year olds from many countries and many different levels of English.

My wife and I moved to a new ranch styled home in Ypsilanti.

Find someone who is easy going and makes learning fun!
