Hello! My name is Megan. I have been an educator for over 18 years of experience. I’m a certified elementary teacher in all subjects and ELA for middle school and elementary. I have a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. I have taught students preschool -3rd grade grade. I have tutored students in English up to 11th grade. I get to know each student individually and create academic goals with the child and their parents. I am enthusiastic and passionate about education and helping each child become successful in their academics. My goal is for the parents and child to see tangible results, but increase the child’s self confidence in their abilities.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe it is important to get to know the student. I would give them a questionaire so I would know their strengths and needs. We would play an interactive game to get to know one another.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught for 17 years. In addition, I have a reading specialist degree. I have my masters in curriculum and instruction.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge sixty dollars an hour and thirty dollars a half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I chose teaching as a career because I love to work with children. I want to help children see that learning is fun and engaging. I have a passion for teaching, because I want to develop strong leaders for the future. I wanted to become a teacher because my teachers made a huge impact on my life and I wanted to do the same for other children.
What types of students have you worked with?
It is my goal to bring my experience and skills to successfully prepare young students for educational achievement. I have enjoyed success in a variety of classrooms, working with a range of age groups, and serving students from diverse backgrounds. I know I can help your child, too.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of working with my students in my classroom. We had a winter celebration and they had four rotations that included: winter igloo, winter snow creations, winter polar bear puppets and an I spy activity. I loved seeing the student's excitement and interaction with one another.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise a student to look for a teacher that is patient, interactive, and can meet your learning needs.
