Cristina Rodriguez

Hi!

I am Cristina and I have been working in elementary schools (grades K-5) for 10 years now. I am currently working in Montgomery County Public Schools as a Reading and English Language Development Coach. I have a Master's Degree in Childhood Education and have my Advanced Professional License through the Maryland State Department of Education in Elementary Education and English Language Development (Grades K-12). Through my work as a reading coach, I have had the honor to complete my Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training and also am Orton Gillingham certified and am very familiar with other research based intervention programs such as Really Great Reading, Read 180, Lexia, and others.

My expertise allows me to help your child/children in the areas of reading decoding, reading comprehension, and written language. I am also qualified to work with students who have IEPs, 504s, or have other learning or health impairments. I am also completely COVID-19 Vaccinated, am a non-smoker, and have my own transportation.

What I absolutely love about working with students is the "aha" moments when students are finally able to apply the decoding skills and strategies and learn that reading can be fun!
