A New Day Tutoring

I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with your child as their ESL or as a Reading/Writing tutor.

With 20 years of experience in teaching, I homeschooled my own children and taught privately as well. I am passionate about fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. I understand the unique challenges that young learners face, especially when it comes to language acquisition and literacy development.

My expertise lies in tailoring my teaching approach to meet the individual needs of each student. I have successfully assisted numerous children in overcoming language barriers, building their confidence, and enhancing their reading and writing abilities. I have taught children with learning disabilities and foreign-speaking children with little to no English. I assisted my own adopted children who arrived with no English-speaking skill. Additionally, I privately homeschooled a local family during the pandemic, teaching multiple grades and subjects.

I believe in making learning enjoyable and relevant, incorporating interactive activities and personalized strategies to keep students motivated and excited about their progress. Learning should be fun! I encorporate games and activities that make learning enjoyable.

I have learned to be adaptable as I've had to become skilled in using a variety of homeschooling curriculum, tutoring material and implimented these tools with a variety of students, young and old.

In addition to my experience, I hold a BS in Psychology and am certified in TESOL. I am committed to creating a positive and encouraging space for your child to thrive academically and develop a strong foundation in English language skills.
