After many years of teaching multiple grade classrooms and individual grade levels from PK through grade 10. I have a certificate from EUP in Math. I instruct in multiple ways according to the interest of the student and any areas that need to have a more specific explanations to achieve understanding.
Teaching is first and foremost work that I enjoy. It has manifested itself in mostly in the classroom, but also positions in camp settings, and many other forms where children need help learn that I can be trusted.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin a conversation with the student about interests for each of us including some experiences and stories that could be shared and that we may have in common.With the conversation I could ascertain what the student knows, areas that need specific attention for greater insight, and others that may only need to briefly explained. We work on homework, use other resources to help give more understanding, and do these in a straight forward way and also varying types of presentation that could allow the student to work on, investigate how things fit together and ultimately solve. The goal is to create a situation that the child can be very successful.
