About

I try to teach my students using fun and engaging techniques- I believe it is very important that my students and I develop rapport and a strong relationship. After all, that is the foundation of a good learning- and teaching- experience.

I love teaching students. Although, I haven't taught English specifically yet, I've spent about 3 years volunteering at my school to teach students in other topics- such as history, grammar, reading, and speedcubing.

Frequently asked questions

I am currently in high school, although I've completed everything from ELA to Honors English 10- which I plan to teach. I am currently in an AP Lang class.

I've been volunteering to teach students at my school for 3 years. Most of the kids I work with are teens, although occasionally I work with children.

I teach Honors English 10- this will prepare your child for AP Lang/Lit and more college courses. I am currently charging $15 per hour.

I started teaching at my school when I was in 7th grade. Originally, this was just teaching kids how to speedcube. During my 8th grade and 9th grade, I started tutoring students at my school individually, in subjects such as math and English, for free. Finally during 9th grade, I volunteered to teach 1st graders, 6th graders, and 7th graders history and grammar at a different school.

During my volunteering services, I have worked with students from ages 6 to 15. Typically, students who are about as old as me- 13 to 15 year olds- work best with me.

-Find someone that is compatible with you. Many tutors have their own different approaches. Find someone whose approach works best with you.

-Choose someone who is passionate about their work. No one wants a tutor that looks at their work as a "chore".

-If your tutor doesn't respond in a timely manner, reconsider. Tutors have a lot of stuff to do but anyone who is professional will respond within at least 2-3 days max.

-Do you struggle with any approaches to learning? (Social, communication, thinking skills, etc)

-What is the best way you learn?

-What is the best way for me to help you?

-Is this something you actually want to do?

*Students! This is important. This is not something that you should feel pressured to do. Tutoring works best when both the students and the teacher can cooperate well and are dedicated to getting this done. If this is something that you dont want to do or feel is a "chore", reconsider!
