Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I love to build relationships with them and make them feel comfortable. I understand that many children have math anxiety and I try my best to calm their feelings of anxiousness.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 8 years of training, workshops, and research invested in becoming an educator. Much of my training focused on child development and developmentally appropriate practices. While my research was focused on finding ways of easing math anxiety and developing curriculum that helped children connect math to the real-world, making it more relevant to them.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching is what I have wanted to do since I was six years old. I am just stepping into my calling.
