Hello, I am Chidubem I Ishie. I have a Master's in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. I work freelance as a software engineer and teach and tutor full-time.
I love teaching and instilling the love of learning in my students, regardless of the subject. I have been tutoring for 7+ years and have taught students of different ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.
I value patience and student participation the most when it comes to tutoring. I always make sure I go at the student's pace, challenge them to break out of their boundaries, and think of creative methods of learning and understanding concepts.
I tutor all Math Subjects, Computer Science, SAT, ACT, SSAT, AP prep, ELA, Social Sciences, Physics, and other subjects. I am very excited to work with you as a tutor!

Chidubem has been tutoring my daughter since February this year, and she has been more than amazing. She helped us with Algebra, Biology, and SAT prep tutoring, and my daughter has been getting much higher scores and feeling way more comfortable with school since we started with her. She got an A in both classes (she had struggled with getting As in Math before) and a 1410 on her SAT (up from 1250 in her PSAT!!).
We had a tutor before Chidubem, but unfortunately, they were not able to form the relationship Chidubem had created with her. I am honestly so insanely grateful for Chidubem; she has made my daughter much more interested in school and studying in general and she is just amazing. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!

Chidubem has been helping both my daughters with Math for about a year now (Algebra and Calculus) and they have been doing so well! Before we met her we had been working with another tutor that unfortunately was not that good with explaining concepts. However, with Chidubem, my daughters have been able to easily pick up on subjects they struggle with. I am very sure I did the best thing for them by working with her. Shes great and 100% totally worth it!

I have been working with Chidubem for 5 months now and shes incredible. She teaches me programming with Java and I absolutely live how she teaches. She gives me challenging assignments and homework, and guides me through the parts that I cant understand. I have learned more from working with her than from my programming class in College. Shes the best!

My daughter started SAT tutoring with Chidubem back in September to prepare for her SAT exam in November. And it was the best decision i ever made. She provided all the materials my daughter needed to practice, and she was so comfortable in teaching that my daughter began to look forward to their weekly sessions. Katie (my daughter) had scored a 1230 in her PSAT, the SAT scores come out a week and a half ago and she scores 1470, almost a 1500! in the 98th percentile! in the I am so so proud of my daughter. She had always struggled with test-taking and Chidubem helped her right through it. Chidubem is like a miracle worker. I 100% recommend her tutoring services.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I call the student so we can discuss what they're looking for (either for themselves or their child). We then settle on location, pricing and thedate/time for our first lesson. If the first lesson goes great, we continue our sessions.
