About
My service stands out because I really care about the students I tutor. Along with helping them develop the strategies and skills needed to be successful in their class. I also want to help them gain confidence in the subject and learn to enjoy chemistry. With the proper guidance from me, my students see that chemistry is not as bad as they think. Also, I have been tutoring since I was in high school because I absolutely love what I do and I am passionate, which helps bring out the best in my students. Lastly, I am not a judgmental person. I am quite sure that my students are great at something that I would be terrible at outside of chemistry. Everyone has their own strengths and weakness. This allows my students to build trust and feel comfortable to ask me anything they need help with.
What I enjoy about the work is the ability to make a difference in my students’ performance in their classes. It is my job to help my students improve and gain the skills to be successful. So, when I see them get better and grow to enjoy chemistry or at least understand it well enough to do well, it brings joy to my heart. At Towson University, I was the First Year Experience Leader for the chemistry department for three years. My job was helping students understand the rigors of being a chemistry major, teaching them how to use our class registration system, and giving them advice on how to be successful in their chemistry classes. I even kept in contact with some students and would give them tricks and game plans for exams so they can do well. I just love helping people, especially through tutoring students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I establish what time/days work best for the students that I tutor. Afterwards, I send them a zoom link, which allow them to access our tutoring session. Then, I have them send me any documents (homework, quizzes, test) that they want to go over in advance. I have learned from experience that sending documents in advance helps ensure that the lessons go smoothly and increases the efficiency of the tutoring session, therefore optimizing the results in student improvement. My goal is to help my students gain confidence and have the assurance that they can be successful in their chemistry class. I will be able to help them work smarter not harder. With my help, they will develop great study habits, gain a better understanding of the material, learn how to effectively solve problems, and learn how to time manage on their exams, which are crucial components for success in their chemistry class. Nothing is more fulfilling then seeing my students excel in their work and see them grow in their understanding of the material. Bringing the best out of people and seeing them succeed is something that I have always been passionate about and tutoring allows me to do that. I genuinely love what I do and can guarantee you that I will always give you 110% effort as your tutor or as your child’s tutor.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The stress on Aaron’s face was evident when he entered the tutoring center. He proceeded to sit at my table and told me that he failed his exam and did not understand anything from it. Also, he told me that he was a business major and that the only reason why he was taking chemistry was to fulfil his science core requirement. I informed him that he had a chance to retake the exam if he went to the recitation sessions, which would help prepare him. He had no idea that this was an option and was elated to hear that he had a second chance. I reviewed the exam with him and after he finished, he told me that he felt better about the material and thanked me for the help. He had three weeks to prepare for the retake and I told him that if he needed any help, he could always come to my tutoring sessions. He took me up on my recommendation and religiously came to every single one of my tutoring sessions and I could see his confidence began to grow. Finally, he received his grade from his retake exam and came into the tutoring center ecstatic to tell me that he received an A. He told me that he had grown to enjoy learning chemistry and that I was able to help make it easier for him to understand. I was so glad that I was able to have an impact on him and to see how he had grown to enjoy chemistry.
