About
I am excited to submit myself as your tutor of choice. As an enthusiastic and experienced educator of 25 years, I believe in creating a positive environment that supports students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
With a strong commitment to student-centered learning and personalized instruction as a licensed special educator (MSDE/APC), you will have a tutor who engages and challenges scholars of all walks of life from your area(s) of strengths. I also have endorsements in Technology and Journalism.
My teaching career began as a print, TV and online journalist who was volunteering at a Communications high school on Chicago’s West Side in 1998. The principal took my resume and turned it into a provisional certification. Here I am today having mainly serviced scholars on the Autism spectrum and have also served blind/visual impaired, LD, ED, BD and the like.
Virtual experience includes work with Amergis as a High Intensity Tutor (elementary), my alma mater Grand Canyon University as a teacher mentor (SPED master’s degree program), and a lead tech teacher/trainer at the SEED School of Maryland at the height of COVID-19 while working as a special education teacher/trainer/IEP chair.
