Let's meet and see what you have been doing for you class. Is it working? Do you find yourself struggling with certain material? Everyone learns different so let's discover what works and help get the material to stick in a beneficial way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ASN 2016. BSN 2019. Current AGAC-NP student at Georgetown University. PCCN nationally certified. Travel nurse. Have worked in over 8 hospitals in the last 3 years including Johns Hopkins, with variety of experience primarily in cardiac and intermediate care.
How did you get started teaching?
I take nursing students on the floor whenever I can. I find that nursing students are the best students, always eager to learn and apply what they have been taught. I absolutely love to teach and want to help in any way I can!
What types of students have you worked with?
Anywhere from current associates care students to nursing students in their last semester in school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was approached by a guest at a wedding I was at and she yelled, "You're Jenn! You helped me pass my cardiac strips exam with what you taught me!!"
A few weeks prior she happened to be doing a clinical day on my floor. I took her and a few other students aside and taught them my way of interpreting rhythm strips. She told me she passed because of me and we danced all night! :)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is willing to tailor to your needs. Everyone teaches differently and everyone learns differently. This is all about YOU and your success, don't let anyone get in the way!
