In addition to having over 15 years of highly successful tutoring experience, I have a B.A. in Applied Mathematics (including Statistics) and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated with a 3.96 GPA and earned admission into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. I also have an MBA in Finance and Public Policy from The Wharton School, where I earned admission into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. I have taken two SAT prep courses, with transferable skills to the ACT, GMAT, GRE, ASVAB and other standardized tests. I have been a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Consultant, and have been in the financial services industry for over 30 years.

People of all ages feel comfortable with me immediately. I have 5 children of my own (ages 22-31) (AND NOW 5 GRANDCHILDREN!), and kept my tutoring skills very sharp on a nightly basis! I was extremely successful in customizing my approach to each member of that crew, so I can certainly do it for you or your child. “I worked with Mr. Jeffrey for several months on my SAT math skills, and let me say that there is only one word to describe this tutor: BLESSING. I started my SAT journey with a 1260 (a 550 on math). Over the course of my months of working with Mr. Jeffrey, my SAT score has improved to a 1520 (a 750 on math).

Thats a 200 POINT INCREASE.

But it wasnt just the results that were amazing. It was the whole process. Mr. Jeffrey made SAT math sessions something I looked forward to! He was patient and willing to spend any amount of time on one problem as long as I understood it. He was always so knowledgeable and went the extra mile every time, so I knew I could count on him to help me learn how to take the SAT. Excellent GRE Tutor

I connected with Jeff in order to prepare for the Quantitative portion for the GRE Exam. Jeff is everything I wanted in a tutor. While he was extremely knowledgeable and was almost always able to help me with the most difficult questions the GRE had to offer, the best aspect of Jeff was most certainly his character. He was always patient with me during times where I struggled, he was always encouraging when I made mistakes during our time together, and he was always ready to help me when I needed it. Additionally, I got accepted into my dream graduate school thanks to his help. Jeff is one of the best tutors out there and I fully recommend him to anyone who needs a boost with the Quantitative portion of the GRE.

Mr. Jeffrey was so helpful in today’s session. As always, he helped give me strategies and general rules for my test. Even though I asked him question after question, he had no trouble keeping up and helping me figure out the right answers and taught me some tips and tricks. When I did my practice questions the next day, I only got three wrong!! That’s a huge improvement from almost every other question being wrong! Thanks, Mr. Jeffrey!

ASVAB Tutor

Jeff is AWESOME!!! My son struggled with the math portion of the ASVAB test and had no faith in himself. Jeff gave him the confidence and the necessary tools to finally pass. He worked around our schedule and was always available when needed. I truly believe that this would not have happened if he was not seeing Jeff. My son enjoyed every minute he was with Jeff. He is truly a wonderful, kind and kid friendly gentleman.. In my opinion THE BEST!!! Thank you again for all that you have done for my son.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I speak to the parent / student to get a sense of the student's strengths and needs. Then I collaborate with the parent / student to design a program that will maximize the probability of success through our work together. Constructive feedback is constantly sought so I may make adjustments. I enjoy writing creative summaries of each session.

How did you get started teaching?

I began tutoring part time early in my financial services career. I saw it as an opportunity to have a positive impact on young people's lives. I enjoyed it immensely and was very succressful at it , so recently transitioned it into a full time career.
