Reaching your English Language goals should be fun and in an encouraging environment. I am a TEFL certified teacher. My teaching style is encouraging, educational, interactive, and fun. I teach Level 1 phonics to Level 4 using a kids' curriculum. I also teach Adults Business English and IELTS with a curriculum. Experienced teaching Chinese, Korean and Japanese. I have taught ESL online since October 2019 with VIPKID and Cambly. My education includes MS in Human Service Managment: non-profit and BSW in Social Work.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discuss with the student before the first session their learning goals. I try to get a background of previous English instruction. We will discuss how the lessons will be structured either through my current curriculm or student provided curriculum.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a 150 hour TEFL certified training. I have a MS degree in Human Service Management and a BSW degree in Social Work. I worked over 15 years in non-profit/ social work and provide Business English experience. I have worked over 2 years as online ESL teacher on VIPKID and Cambly.

My current pricing system is $16.00 per hour or $9.00 per 30 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
I initially got interested in teaching English when I became a Mom. I was interested in being able to help people and work around my young children's schedule. A friend suggested I try teaching ESL online. I researched and thought it was a good fit for me. I completed my 150 hour TEFL training and immediately got hired and started to teach.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with young student from age 5 to teenagers via VIPKID in China and in South Korea. I also worked with adults on Cambly from all over the world Japan, China, Vietnam, Saudia Arabia, Turkey, Brazil, UAE, South Korea and more. I have taught Business English, IELTS, general conversation skills, kids, reading and beginners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently working a Japanese woman. When we started she was hesitant to talk a lot in our lessons but as we have worked together she has gained in confidence and her English level. She even has pushed herself to try a little more advanced lessons. This past summer, she worked at the Japanese Olympics and was able to use some of her English from our lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher who is patient, encouraging and supportive of your learning goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their goals? How much time do they have to review the lesson material?
