What is your typical process for working with a new student?
> Open a phone dialog with the requesting parent to cover the issues of concern.
> Share a detailed Tutor bio and discuss more specific student needs.
> Establish baseline performance and discuss target/desired performance.
> Discuss resources available to the student; i.e. library, computer, etc.
> Agree on a weekly schedule, number of lessons/hours, method of delivery, and investment.
> Review and agree on how to measure and report on student progress and desired/expected performance.
> Tutor and Parent sign contract.

Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate in Education.

Each individual has unique needs and capabilities. Fees range between $45 and $75 per hour depending on objectives and requirements, length of time to meet objectives, and distance to/from the tutoring site.
How did you get started teaching?
My father's mother taught and consulted with physicians and parents of kids with special needs.
Both my parents were superb lipreaders, but could not hear. Often, when called upon to interpret for them in sign language, there was the need to explain a concept, or synthesize and simplify a large amount of information.
I received a lot of feedback from those, especially professionals (doctors, lawyers, etc.) who observed me teaching their children or explaining to my parents, and remarking the skill I demonstrated teaching.
