Genetics/Biology Tutoring With Emily
About
Current student myself who knows what it is like to have a professor or teacher explain ideas in confusing or lengthy ways. I like to draw comparisons using analogies and establish a strong base of knowledge before adding details.
I love working with students and helping them figure out what they do not know and then tackling those topics. I also love using different teaching aids to make things easier to memorize or easier to understand.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What class are they currently in. What classes they do well in and what makes those classes easier for them. Based on what makes their other classes easier I can help them to tackle what about the other class makes it less understandable. Ie. Teacher only uses powerpoints and they prefer worksheets and videos. I would turn powerpoints into worksheets with questions about the content as opposed to having them memorize slides.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in psychology from the University of Rochester.
I am currently pursuing a Master's at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Genetic Counseling.
Between school, I have been a teacher/counselor for 2 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
