Hello! My name is Joe Wang and I am currently a boarding senior at Deerfield Academy. I will be attending Yale University next year to study Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. In midst of this quarantine chaos, I have found myself with more time than expected, so I am offering online tutoring services. Although my strengths are in science, I am also capable of helping with most other core subjects, the SAT, and the ACT. I have taken a total of 10 AP classes (BC Calculus, Physics C M and E/M, Chemistry, Biology, US History, English Literature and Language, Chinese and Music Theory) and received a perfect score on the ACT. I am currently taking classes in Multivariable Calculus, Chinese Literature, Molecular Biology, Music Composition, Poetry, and Existentialism. Please feel to ask me any questions!
Ever since I started helping my classmates with their work during my freshman year of high school, I have fallen in love with tutoring and teaching. I find it extremely rewarding to pass down the knowledge and tricks I have learned from my own educational journey to aspiring students. I always feel a burst of happiness whenever I hear one of my classmates do well on an assignment that I helped them with. My style of tutoring is largely based on understanding and being able to apply skills to difference scenarios so my students can be well equipped in the future as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will often start by having the student ask questions about their work so I can gauge their understanding and cater my teaching to their needs. I am a strong believer that every student have strengths and weaknesses, so I make an effort to discover these and change my teaching style accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Shrewsbury High School for two years before transferring to Deerfield Academy, where I repeated my sophomore year. I am graduating this year with high honors and will be attending Yale University next year.

I have very flexible pricing, but the average is $10-$20 an hour.
