Writing, History, College Essay

I have both college and 'real world' experience which helps me take a holistic approach to tutoring; my students gain knowledge of the topic while grasping an understanding of how to learn which reaches far beyond the classroom. I am passionate about tutoring because I grew as a person once I uncovered my passion for education and want to help others acheive that

My background includes at BA in History and Archaeology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Along the way I became a DANA scholar as well part of the History honors society. Outside of academia, I have expereince as an archaeologist as well as a business analyst for a Fortune 100 company. Furthermore I have a passion of teaching as I have taught karate for 6 years and held training workshops during college (for example, 'how to leverage a classics degree for a business job,' 'why you should major in history'). Furthermore I worked in my college admissions office for 4 years so I know why schools look for in terms of writing and academics. With my diverse background, I am confident I can give students the confidence and skills to learn how to learn which is skill that goes beyond the classroom.
