About

My services stand apart from others in that I deeply care about the success as well as the wellbeing of my students regularly. Every concern and victory that encompasses their learning are my challenge. It is with pleasure and dedication that I want to help them each step of the way in the assignments, in their motivation to succeed, in their attitude and completeness of their homework and in corresponding well with those involved in their work, meaning, cooperative learning partners, their teachers, parents and siblings. It is good, in my opinion, to have everyones take on advancing skills through collaboration and opnion. Helping out at home leads to better cooperation among siblings in learning and playing.

I like everything about my tutoring. My students interests and personalities then their learning styles come first. Their feedback is most welcome and I gently give them the positive feedback they need to grow in their weak areas. I like to teach many subjects which all involve reading and writing. I learn from my students as they learn from me too. I welcome ways to engage them better from parents and teachers, yet, I have done well with this consistently.

Having worked with students in grades K-6 then 6-8 to achieve closer to grade level and work on goals provided on their IEPs, I know that there involvment about learning more about the steps they need to take is very important.

My experience spans 20& years with tutoring. I have been teaching for almost nearly as long in the learning and resource centers. All of my work accounts for higher goals for myself. My lessons and planning are thorough along with the mini lessons I pinpoint along the way. I vary my strategies as I vary my work content, always focusing on the individual needs of each student.

The one on one time with Lori helped our sons writing improve significantly. She was patient, encouraging, and found interesting topics with him to spark his motivation to do well. Her skill surpassed our expectations. We are so lucky to have found her for a tutor. Laura

    Frequently asked questions

I like to get to know the student by his/her cultural and academic interests first.  I prepare a skills and interest assessment at grade level and provide curriculum guidelines too.

My focus is on reading, writing and English.  I will work with English language learners and older students needing to refine their work and be supported at any l I work with younger students in math  and  I provide skill development for study, test taking and organizational skills.

It is important to me to know my students'/parent  I am very accommodating and creative in my approach, always tuning into my students needs, interests and aptitudes.

I am open to working any way that is helpful to my students. My hours are flexible and my rates can be too for multiple students in the family, multiple days a week etc.

I have two degrees in education  and specialized reading and language training in special education through my professional development of several years.

I price according to the work you need, online tutoring or in person tutoring, the research and resources you need such as library or computer work, consultations needed with your school, etc.  My fees range from $50 to $80.00 (for test prep/short term tutoring) a session  for whatever you need and included are sibling discounts and multiple session discounts.  It is a busy season so I try hard to accommodate each and every one of you without compromising  my standards since I have experience tutoring and teaching also.  Therefore, my hours and days can be extended to suit your needs without question.

I always take current courses to enhance my work and grow my business.

Lesley University with a B.S in Education with.  a concentration in special education and reading.

Lesley University and Cambridge College, M.S of Education-K-12.

I started teaching in Medford in 1992, Boston, 1999 in the public schools, then joined private schools and agencies along with my private tutoring thereafter.  I have been a successful tutor for several years with addiional work with young children and adult English Learners.

I work with the average to advanced learner, English Language learners and special learning needs students too.

Some students need minimal support and others need much preparation in their lessons, structure, verbal and written formats, online tutoring is available anytime.

I have been successful seeing progress in both regular and special education students and have several references for the past 15 years from parents and teachers, administrators.

I loved tutoring my grade one- fifth graders most recently. I used interactive writing and applied it to both book reports and summaries in creative writing.

Do your best and never give up on yourself.  Your goals or expectations can be adapted to your talents according to your workload, never giving up on yourself is key to continuing to make progress.  Whatever is a motivating factor for you is important too.

Where can I improve? How can I make my learning easier? What do you think of my work? How will a tutor help me?

Think about how you work best and where this is comfortable for you and at what times work best.
