Julie Capachin

I have been employed or the last seven years as an ESL teacher in a middle school (grades 5-7) where I have worked with students in all core subjects for all three grades. Before that I worked as a special education teaching assistant in grades 7 and 8. In this role I led content support groups, pre-teaching and reteaching core subject concepts, as well as helping students to complete assignments in all core subjects.

As both an ESL teacher and a teaching assistant I primarily focus on a small group or even a single student. This allows me to forge a connection with these students and to learn how best to teach or assist them, rather than teach to a whole class which may leave some student struggling. I look forward to helping more students outside the classroom as well.
