About
Hello! My name is Claudia Solórzano, I am fron La Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala. I have more than 30 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language to students from Canada, USA, Asia and Europe. I have taught Spanish to beginner, intermediate and advanced students in person, and I'm now doing so online with my new method.
I have worked for a long time perfecting my teaching methods creating a program that responds in a personalized way to your objectives so it can be correctly coupled to you and your needs. I have also improved my course to adapt to the new trend of classes online.
I teach my classes with a blackboard, cards and an excercise book that allow me to present all the didactic material in a virtual way such as readings, slides, audios, videos so I can teach in a dynamic way.
I can say that Spanish language can be learned not only in a grammatical way, but through culture topics, history, customs and food. My goal is that you learn Spanish in a dynamic, fun and personalized way.
I also love teaching, sharing and making friends with my students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the beginning I do an evaluation to know their level and to be able to know their grammar needs. I work with a personalized plan according to their specific needs such as vocabulary and information of interest to the student. We will work with assignments, quizzes and other activities to reinforce their learning. I put a lot of emphasis on correct pronunciation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a teacher certified with Specialization in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the Da Vinci University of Guatemala.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $15 per hour for my lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
Especially young people, adults and the elderly.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend finding a teacher who enjoys teaching and who loves helping you achieve your goals. It is very important that the teacher wants you to enjoy the class and makes you feel confident with yourself so you will learn more.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
"Why should I or do I want to learn Spanish?"
"¿Will I be willing to do everything I can to achieve my goal?"
