About

My name is Sam and I am a student at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Being in college, I am very up to date on the topics of chemistry, biology, algebra, psychology, and economics. I learn and teach by making acronyms relating to course work or create fun ways to understand tricky subjects such as organic chemistry. I have been a 4.0 student since high school and I have tutored two high school students on the subject of AP Biology (got a 5 on the exam). I am fun to talk to and can change my teaching strategy to your needs :)

For academic acomplishments, I have recieved 25 academic scholarships, the Harvard Book award, was a member of the National Honors Society, and graduated valevictorian.

I believe it is helpful to be tutored by someone close to your age since I can connect with you on another level and I understand what makes sense in a teenage mind.

Mahalo,

Sam

Sam was an amazing tutor and really helped me understand the concepts, even down to the smallest detail. She takes the time to make sure you thoroughly understand the content and even approached it in different ways to make sure I fully understood. If I didn’t understand something she was able to explain it differently and used diagrams and drawing to make sure I understood. Sam was extremely helpful and a great tutor. It wasn’t a stressful environment and she made learning fun and enjoyable!

I really liked that the learning was specific towards me and what I needed help with, also, adjustments to the learning would be made to fit me best when it seemed necessary. This allowed me to maximize my learning and really advance my understanding of the subject and improve my quality of work. Now I am able to excel in the areas I used to struggle with the most!

I liked how patient the tutor was with me. She incorporated different learning styles to our sessions to help me find the best way to approach my work. I appreciated how she always asked me questions to make sure I understood the material. Very Kind and passionate with helping students. Would take again!

Frequently asked questions

I first get to know you as a student and as a person by learning what activities you enjoy outside of the classroom. I do this so I can try to incorperate things that make sense or are enjoyable to you. My teaching style is making practice problems to demonstrate and then going over any questions or missunderstandings before I have you attempt a similar problem.

I am an undergraduate student at Emory University studying Neuroscience and Behavior Biology as well as Economics. I also graduated highschool as valevictorian.

I charge $30-40 an hour for online tutoring and if you need me to review papers or work that is only $20. I am willing to negotiate pricing though.

I enjoy helping people learn and understand a new subject and not just get a better grade.

I have worked with students who are willing to learn and just do not understand the material that is taught in their course or need more time practicing it.

I would make sure to look for a tutor that fits your needs rather than one who seems "smart"

Students should consider what type of learner they are and know what they do jnot understand/why they need a tutor.
