I have been in the field of education for the past 7 years. I worked as a paraprofessional for 2 years prior to becoming a special education teacher. I am currently a special education teacher in Billerica and I work with high school students with disabilities. Although I work in a high school setting I have experience with elementary and middle school curriculum.

I love helping out in math. Whenever a student in my class needs help with a subject I’m always there to help them understand. Even when it’s online I help out. Where it’s a specific topic or just something someone’s not sure about and needs a little practice with. I enjoy helping out with math because it not only teaches the student but it also teaches me how to do my job. The student helps me understand what questions to ask and what the student really needs to focus on. Our tutors are all currently students at Harvard University whose specialties are their respective concentrations. We meet our students in Harvard Square and employ a hands on learning process, wherein the tutor and student develop an interpersonal connection. This connection allows for more efficacious tutoring and allows students to understand the material more easily.
