About
Students and parents often tell me I’m the best tutor they’ve worked with - not just because I know the material, but because I know how to explain it. I may be new to tutors.com, but I’ve helped students from elementary school through college build confidence, improve their grades, and enjoy learning. I don’t just show the steps - I help students understand the why behind the concepts so things truly make sense.
With two master’s degrees and years of teaching and tutoring experience, I bring both deep subject knowledge and a thoughtful, personalized approach to every session. I break down complex ideas into clear, intuitive steps and adjust my teaching style to match each student’s needs. Whether the goal is catching up, getting ahead, or preparing for a big test, I’m committed to helping students succeed - and making the process feel manageable and rewarding along the way.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by getting a sense of the student’s current level, goals, and any specific challenges they’re facing. In our first session, I ask questions, look at recent work, and talk through a few problems to see how they think. From there, I tailor lessons to match their learning style - focusing on clear explanations, intuitive examples, and helping them see the logic behind the math. I check in regularly to adjust our approach and make sure they’re gaining confidence and making steady progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taught advanced college-level math courses and worked closely with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My academic training and hands-on teaching experience have given me a deep understanding of mathematical thinking and how to explain it clearly at different levels.
I have worked with gifted students for over 10 years, helping multiple high school students reach national level competitions in math and computer science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates typically range from $30 to $40 per hour, depending on the subject, grade level, and how often we meet. I try to stay flexible to fit each family's needs. Feel free to reach out and we can find a plan that works best for you.
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve always loved explaining things clearly, and I come from a family of teachers and professors, so helping others learn came naturally. I began tutoring classmates in high school, then later tutored college students while earning my degrees in computer science. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for helping students build real understanding and confidence in math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught children as young as 6 - basic coding, mostly fun, basic implementation of games, all the way to computer science graduate students at Tufts University.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently co-teaching Algorithms - an advanced, required course at Tufts with 150 students. I was shocked last semester when my end-of-the-semester review session had almost 70 students! It was a fantastic 2.5 hour-long semi-lecture, semi-recitation style event where I felt like I had the opportunity to teach brilliant students!
