I am a 5th year teacher who has had the opportunity to work in many grade levels.
I have worked with grades 3-6 in all content areas creating engaging and meaningful lessons.
I have been a Springboard and ELA content specialist that works directly on helping students with phonics, letter identification, fluency, accuracy, reading comprehension, and writing.
I am also an academic and social emotional learning mentor to young scholars. This mentorship is tailored to meet the individual needs of each student while monitoring their progress.
Lastly, I have been tutoring students both from my classroom and across school districts. With my tutoring plan we can do everything from social skills to academics. I create a student centered goal oriented plan with the whole family to promote student growth and achievement.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First we identify a learning goal from both the student and the guardian. Then we identify what the students strengths are, what motivates them to learn and their preferred method of learning. To set the student's learning goal. We will track their progress toward the goal by chunking them into smaller pieces, so both student and guardian can see the growth that is being made.
Building a strong and trusting relationship is key to engaging a student in new learning adventures. Which we will continue to work on everytime we are together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in education for 5+ years in the elementary level.
I have been in the 5-12 school counseling industry for 2 years.
I have extended training in blended learning models, differentiating material for students with (504's, IEP's and the needs of English Language Learners) and progress monitoring student growth.

I have primarly worked with ELL, 504 and IEP students who reside in ubran areas.
Additionally, I mentored and counseled students who have been moved to an alternative classroom setting to best fit their needs.
