Rachel Snavely-Merhaut

I am a teacher with 6+ years experience in theatre arts, English (reading, writing), and curriculum development. I offer tutoring to students academically in English, theatre, and the Humanities. I also offer creative lessons in writing as well as acting lessons.

I love working one-on-one with students and have found some of my best teaching moments have happened during these occasional moments I get with students in school during lunch, in rehearsal, after school, etc. I am student centered educator and will meet your students where they are. I have worked with a diverse group of students over the years (2nd-12th grade & undergraduate students). I also have worked with students with special needs and ran a theatre program at Learning Prep School with these students. Additionally, I am currently working in a school district where the majority of students are LatinX and many of them are immigrants who are English Language Learners. Rest assured that any background and identity your student has, I will be accepting and encouraging of them. In fact, I have worked on theatre pieces with my students to express their identities (pieces I wrote, pieces students wrote, and published plays as well).

I have a Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College and a Bachelors in English Literature and Secondary Education from Lebanon Valley College.
